Newbury College was proud to host Theale C. of E. Primary School's Summer Showcase Extravaganza at its open air amphitheatre on the evening of Tuesday 21st June. Pupils, aged seven to eleven, performed a range of delightful acts to an audience of family and friends.
Performances included the school's gifted and talented steel pan, drama and dance groups, singing from two of the school's choirs, music from the string and clarinet ensembles and brass quartet, acrobatics from the gymnastic squad and more.
Newbury College and Theale Primary School are working closely together as joint sponsors of a new primary school due to open in September 2017. The new school is being built to help meet the high demand for primary school places in Newbury.
Newbury College Principal, Dr Anne Murdoch OBE, said: It was an absolute pleasure hosting Theale Primary School's evening showcase event again this year, we are so pleased they were able to make use of our wonderful outside space. When the new school opens next year, we look forward to hosting many more events.
Deputy Head Teacher, Tristan Whiteman, said: It was with great pride that we saw our pupils performing so confidently on the stage. They have such a vast array of talents and gifts that they have had the chance to develop, extend and refine through our broad curriculum. We were equally delighted to see so many parents and family supporting their children and the school. We continue to look forward to working further with Newbury College in a productive continued partnership together.
