Enrich your curriculum with career-focused experiences at Newbury College.
Newbury College is the leading provider of vocational education for young people in West Berkshire. Vocational education is perfect for school leavers who want a more hands-on approach than the traditional academic route and we are working with local secondary schools to provide opportunities for KS4 pupils to explore future careers.

Student Transition
As you are aware, transition can be difficult for any young person and even more so for vulnerable children.
We invite schools to share information about vulnerable students who have applied to join us for the next academic year. This information will enable us to begin planning and resourcing our teams for a smooth transition for new students. We will ensure all information is kept securely in line with Data Protection guidance. We do not request full details/files on students at this stage. Thank you for your support in advance.

Careers Events
Each year we work with local employers and education providers to host numerous career-focus events that showcase the wide range of post-16 opportunities that are available for young people. Our Career Discovery Events take Open Days to the next level, with local employers taking centre stage to offer advice and guidance on the careers in their industries. School groups are actively encouraged to visit, however, many of these events take place in the evening, so we are happy to provide promotional material that can be sent out to parents.

Workshops
Engaging workshops can all be arranged to engage pupils and support their career aspirations. We will work with you to identify the areas that students are interested in and, where possible, map activities to their learning objectives and progression goals. Workshops can be delivered on-site or via Microsoft Teams. Topics include:
T Levels - The next level qualifications
Year 10 and 11
Help pupils understand T Levels with informative sessions that explain the structure and positioning of the next level qualifications. They will explore the potential career pathways available, discover how industry placement works and how to access vocational higher education opportunities.
UCN Masterclasses
Year 12 and 13
University Centre Newbury is providing opportunities for people to achieve their degree locally. Ideal for sixth-form students, these masterclasses allow young people to experience higher education and discover how to access career-focused, vocational degree pathways, including degree apprenticeships, that support their professional aspirations.
Subject-Specific Workshops
Year 10 and 11
