Enrich your curriculum with career-focused experiences at Newbury College.

Newbury College is the leading provider of vocational education for young people in West Berkshire. Vocational education is perfect for school leavers who want a more hands-on approach than the traditional academic route and we are working with local secondary schools to provide opportunities for KS4 pupils to explore future careers.

Careers Events

Each year we work with local employers and education providers to host numerous career-focus events that showcase the wide range of post-16 opportunities that are available for young people. Our Career Discovery Events take Open Days to the next level, with local employers taking centre stage to offer advice and guidance on the careers in their industries. School groups are actively encouraged to visit, however, many of these events take place in the evening, so we are happy to provide promotional material that can be sent out to parents.

Workshops

Bespoke workshops in a wide range of subject areas including engineering, construction, mechanics, hairdressing, beauty therapy, professional cookery and more, can all be arranged to engage pupils and support their career aspirations. We will work with you to identify the areas that students are interested in and, where possible, map activities to their learning objectives and progression goals.

Our professional, industry-standard facilities create the perfect simulated work environment to help provide pupils with a greater understanding of how to operate in a modern workplace and prepare for the next stage of their progression. All our facilities meet our high standards of health and safety and are fully risk-assessed.
