Newbury College is delighted to announce a new partnership with Basingstoke Town FC Academy Programme. This partnership will further expand the high-quality development of football and the provision of sports-focused education, which allows students to turn their passion for sport into a rewarding career.

Basingstoke Town FC was established in 1896, becoming a Community Club in 2019 with values that align closely with the College through its integration and development across the Basingstoke community.

This partnership expands the College’s focus to provide careers, not courses. Alongside developing their football and personal skillset, students will gain qualifications linked to their football journey. The programme will broaden opportunities and can lead to a variety of sporting careers, university or overseas sporting scholarships.

Lee Probert, Principal and Chief Executive, Newbury College, commented:

"We are excited to be partnering with Basingstoke Town Community FC, it is an established and community-based Football Club that believes in developing opportunities for the community to increase their skills and develop the skills for future careers.”

Liz Lockie, Vice Chair of Basingstoke Town Community FC said:

" We are very happy to be partnering with Newbury College, who have already proven their ability to partner with football clubs, enhance the educational experience and provide the support and opportunities to make a real difference for existing and future students within the Basingstoke Community.”

The programme delivers a comprehensive insight across two years, developing knowledge and understanding in Sports Coaching, Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Testing and Training, Sports Nutrition, Analysis of Sports Performance, Sports Injuries, Sports Massage, Sports Psychology and more.
