Football Academy (Basingstoke) Level 3

You will gain hands-on experience in a range of sporting activities, explore the science behind fitness and performance, and develop leadership qualities that will help you stand out in the industry.

Description
You will train daily and participate in football matches as part of our full-time education/football programme. Players who excel on the pitch can have the opportunity to play for our U19 National Youth Alliance team, participate in the Hampshire floodlit cup, FA Youth Cup and even make the transition into senior football with Basingstoke Town Community Football Club's Men and Women's 1st Teams. The academy has a proven pathway into the Men's 1st team, with numerous players making debuts over the past years.

Entry Requirements
You will need to have five GCSE passes at grade 4 (D) or above. Ideally two of these will be in English and maths. If you haven't attained a 4 or above in English and maths, we will support you to study these alongside your main programme.
You need to have the love for the game - all areas of the course are geared towards football to help you understand and broaden your knowledge.

NCFE Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Fitness Instructing & Personal Training

Progression
We have many progression routes for students, including full-time work, apprenticeships, University and scholarships abroad.

Assessment
You will be assessed by a mixture of assessment methods such as practical demonstrations, written reports, PowerPoint presentations, Video analysis and short answer questions.

Home Study
You will have work to complete each week based on the topic in class. If you are not up to date and behind on your work, then you will not be eligible to train or feature in the squads for that week. Therefore, if your work is not completed then this will be done in your own time. You may also have work to complete each week for Maths and English dependant on previous grades.

Work Placement
Whilst studying with us, you will have the opportunity to gain the skills and qualities that will set you aside from other students. You will be able to work with the community team coaching young aspiring footballers and you will have the opportunity to play and observe experienced coaches at higher levels within the game.

Fees and Additional Costs
As part of the programme you are required to purchase the training and match kit. This is the only cost for the course - your course leader will provide more details prior to enrolment.
