Newbury College will be holding its annual Higher Education Graduation and Further Education Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 8 December to celebrate the success of its students. The College is delighted that former Newbury College student, and Chief Executive Officer of insurance market Lloyd's of London, Inga Beale, will be the guest speaker at the event.

Inga Beale will speak about how her career has progressed since studying Business Studies at the old Newbury College site in the 1980s. The evening is a celebration of students who have achieved Higher Education qualifications, Level 4 and above, and Further Education learners who will receive awards to recognise their hard work and dedication to their courses.

The Graduation Ceremony will be attended by local mayors, governors, parents and employer sponsors; joining the students to congratulate them on their achievements. Dr Anne Murdoch OBE, Newbury College Principal said, The Graduation and Further Education Awards are a celebration of the achievements of our hard-working students and staff across a wide range of courses. The event gives an opportunity for family and friends to recognise the successes of individuals and for the College and employers to present special awards that recognise the outstanding achievements of some of the students this year. We are particularly grateful to Inga Beale for agreeing to present the certificates and awards on this occasion and are looking forward to showing her the new College site.

Higher Education students from courses including Accounting, Computing, Engineering, Management, and Teacher Training will graduate this year. The Further Education Awards are sponsored by local employers including, Apple Print & Creative, City Motor Holdings, David Lloyd Leisure, David Wilson Homes, Euro Car Parts, Fiona Crutchley, Hogan Music, Kaizen Systems, M&B Beauty and Hair Supplies, Priory Thornford Park Hospital, Roc Technologies, Salon Services, The Breeze, The Castle School, The Corn Exchange, The Vineyard Group, West Berkshire Council and Wickes Newbury.

Following the ceremony, graduates, award winners and guests will be treated to a drinks reception and canapé refreshments all handmade by the College's catering students.
