Staff and learners at Newbury College raised money for Children in Need as they held a Fancy Dress Friday' event with fun and frolic fundraising activities and sales.
Last Friday 18 November 2011 Newbury College embarked on a mission to raise as much money as they could for Children in Need. Each curriculum area donned a fundraising activity to entice people to make a donation to the charity. The Beauty and Creative Arts students teamed up to offer a Pro Photo Portrait and Makeover' where with a donation people had a makeover followed by a photo shoot session provided. Catering students provided a Pound-Burgers and Dogs' lunch to feed the hungry crowds with freshly prepared and cooked hamburgers and hot dogs for £1. Art and Design students put on a fancy dress cake sale where they had themed their baked goods with Pudsey bear faces on them. There was also a children in need raffle along with one student carrying out hand drawn portraits for a donation.
Shaun Daubney, Students Communication Officer at Newbury College was impressed by the whole College's efforts and said The learners and staff were more than willing to participate in arranging events and activities to raise funds for such a worthy cause. Each year the College's activities and participation for the fundraising never fails to disappoint. This year the whole College, staff and learners, really came together to produce some fantastic activities and produce to raise as much as they could
