Two Newbury College Creative Media students, Anna Bayliss and Jack Simmonds, are taking to the digital airwaves with their own regular radio programme.

Summer Staycation will broadcast on 4LEGS Radio, a community station for the Lambourn Valley, and will feature a mix of music, information on local events, interviews with event organisers and some of the students’ own personal summer experiences.

The opportunity came about following a successful work placement that Anna and Jack enjoyed working with the station.

Newbury College Employer Support Coordinator, Jude Buckell, said: “We are really proud of Anna and Jack. They started their work placement six weeks ago and have made a great impression on the station manager, building confidence from their first visit, to being able to run their own live show.

“Finding valuable work placements is always challenging, especially in the current climate, so we are delighted to build this partnership with 4 LEGS Radio, encouraging a wider audience for their programmes whilst supporting our students.”

Summer Staycation launches at 11:15am on Friday 23 July 2021 and can be accessed live at 4legsradio.org.uk/play-now or via the station’s catch up service on Mixcloud.
