Football Academy (Oxford) Level 3
Dependant on the pathway into Football and/or Sport that tickles your taste buds, we cover 18 units over 2 years that give you a wide range of knowledge and understanding around Football and all its aspects. Alongside this you will have the opportunity to play football every day which will enable you to develop all the necessary skills to help you progress further within the sport.

Description
Across the 18 units you will study topics in both theory and practical aspects. What you learn in the classroom will help you develop on the football pitch and vice versa. Topics covered such as Sports Coaching, Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Testing and Training, Sports Nutrition, Analysis of Sports Performance, Sports Injuries, Sports Massage, Sports Psychology and many more.
You will play in the colleges leagues which will mean you have fixtures every week. This will also feature games against Academy level teams to help you show your progression. The squad will also represent the club in the FA Youth Cup.

Entry Requirements
Students need to have five GCSE passes at grade 4 (D) or above.
You need to have the love for the game - all areas of the course are geared towards football to help you understand and broaden your knowledge.

NCFE Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Fitness Instructing & Personal Training

Progression
You are able to progress from the Level 3 Extended Diploma after the 2 years with us onto Higher education courses, routes into Sport including Scholarship opportunities in America, Coaching in China, Apprenticeships in Sports and breaking into the wider range of sporting careers. We offer a Level 4 HNC programme that is a natural progression for our students. This is in Sports Coaching and it can progress up to a full Degree qualification.

Assessment
You will be assessed by a mixture of assessment methods such as practical demonstrations, written reports, PowerPoint presentations, Video analysis and short answer questions.

Home Study
You will have work to complete each week based on the topic in class. If you are not up to date and behind on your work, then you will not be eligible to train or feature in the squads for that week. Therefore, if your work is not completed then this will be done in your own time. You may also have work to complete each week for Maths and English dependant on previous grades.

Work Placement
Whilst studying with us, you will have the opportunity to gain the skills and qualities that will set you aside from other students. You will be able to work with the football in the community team coaching young aspiring footballers, you will have the opportunity to run residential programmes for a Disability college from Birmingham which is one of our most successful and engaging groups that we see throughout the year, and finally you will have the opportunity to play and observe experience coaches at higher levels within the game.
