Description
The Preparing to Work in Adult Health and Social Care programme consist of nine mandatory units:
- Unit 1: Principles of Communication in Adult Social Care Settings
- Unit 2: Principles of Personal Development in Adult Social Care Settings
- Unit 3: Principles of Diversity, Equality and inclusion in Adult Social Care Settings
- Unit 4: Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health & Social Care
- Unit 5: Introduction to Duty of Care in Health, Social Care or Children's & Young People's Settings
- Unit 6: Understand the Role of the Social Care Worker
- Unit 7: Understand Person-centred Approaches in Adult Social Care Settings
- Unit 8: Understand Health & Safety in Social Care Settings
- Unit 9: Understand How to Handle Information in Social Care Settings
Study Online courses allow you to complete your study from the comfort of your own home, in your own time. A specialist tutor will be assigned to you for the duration of your course and will provide individual support and guidance.
The course begins with an initial induction phone call, after which you will be issued access to the online learning platform to start your course. Regular access to a computer and a stable internet connection is essential. Public areas such as your local library can allow you access to a computer and internet, should you not have access to your own.

Entry Requirements
This is a FREE online course for adults aged 19+. You can apply if you are aged 19+ and have lived in the UK for the last three years. Eligibility is based on your home postcode.
A basic level of numeracy and literacy is required with general computer skills to for navigating the Online Learning Platform.

You will complete an assessment at the end of each module/unit. These assessments are tutor marked, internally moderated and then moderated by the awarding body.
