Description
In today's fast-paced world, digital skills are no longer optional - they are essential for success. Don't let technology leave you behind. Employers today are actively seeking candidates with solid digital skills, while banks, supermarkets and even NHS services require a basic level of technical skill to access.
The Essential Digital Skills framework defines the digital skills adults need to safely benefit from, participate in and contribute to the digital world. Our course is designed to equip you with the skills you need to navigate the digital landscape confidently. From sending emails and using social media to creating documents and conducting online research.
Topics include:
- Using devices and handling information
- Creating and editing
- Communicating
- Transacting
- Being safe and responsible online
The first 6 weeks of this course are an introduction to the subject and act as an assessment to the qualification course. Students who meet the requirements for the Essential Digital Skills (Entry 3) qualification will have the opportunity to continue their studies for an additional 12 weeks to work towards certification.

Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are required for entry to these qualifications. For non-native speakers, English skills at or just below Entry 3 are required. An initial assessment will be carried out prior to the start of the qualification to identify your suitability, current digital skills capabilities and areas for development.
You do not need to possess any existing technical skills to take part in this programme, however, a good understanding of English will help.

College certificate or NCFE Essential Digital Skills Qualification (Entry 3) dependent on length of study.

Progression
The qualifications are intended to develop essential digital skills to enable you to have access to and actively engage in the digital world. Following successful achievement you may wish to further develop their understanding and skills and progress onto digital quali?cations at a higher level.

Assessment
Your tutor will keep an observation record and monitor certain skills and abilities demonstrated throughout the programme. The final assessment is provided via on an on-demand test through an online assessment platform.

Home Study
The tutor will set small pieces of homework and/or revision based on what was covered in class. It is recommended that you have access to a computer at home in order to practice and complete homework tasks.

Work placement is not required for this programme.
