Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are required for entry to this programme. However, if you're new to digital devices, initial support will be provided to help you:
- Turn on a device and use controls like a mouse, keyboard, or touchscreen.
- Utilise accessibility tools to make devices easier to use.
- Connect to the internet safely and securely.
- Open and access applications.
An initial assessment will be carried out prior to the start of the qualification to identify your suitability, current digital skills capabilities, and areas for development.

Progression
This qualification is intended to develop essential digital skills, enabling you to access and actively engage in the digital world. Following successful achievement, you may wish to further develop your understanding and skills by progressing onto higher-level digital qualifications, such as:
- NCFE Level 1 Digital Functional Skills
- NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Digital Skills
- NCFE Level 1 Essential Digital Skills

Assessment
Your progress will be evaluated through externally set and marked assessments, divided into two sections:
- Knowledge Assessment: Multiple-choice and short-answer questions.
- Skills Assessment: Task-based assessments.
These assessments are conducted under invigilated conditions and are available on demand, ensuring flexibility. If needed, you can resit assessments to achieve your goals.

Home Study
To reinforce your learning, you'll be encouraged to practice your digital skills regularly. This may include:
- Completing exercises related to each theme.
- Practising online communication and transactions.
- Using digital devices to create and edit documents.
It is recommended that you have access to a computer at home to practice and complete homework tasks.
