Beauty Therapy Level 3

Throughout the programme, you'll dive deep into the art and science of beauty therapy. You'll learn the latest techniques, master essential treatments, and develop your confidence working with clients. Key topics covered include:

• Swedish massage therapy
• Electrotherapy treatments for the face and body
• Hot stone therapy
• Nail treatments, including advanced manicure and pedicure
• Health, safety, and hygiene in the beauty industry
• Anatomy and physiology relevant to beauty therapy
• Client care and consultation techniques

You'll get plenty of hands-on practice and learn how to adapt treatments to meet the individual needs of clients, ensuring a bespoke and luxurious experience.

The recommended textbooks are:

• Anatomy and Physiology 5th Edition by Helen McGuinness

Any student applying for the course must hold a current full level 2 qualification in Beauty Therapy with current skills and all treatments carried out in a professional environment. Students must also have five GCSE passes at grade 4 (D) or above, preferably including Maths and English or an equivalent vocational qualification at merit grade, and Functional Skills Maths and English, preferably at Level 2. Students must also be in relevant work-related employment.

This programme is ideal if you have a keen interest in beauty therapy and enjoy working with people. A creative eye, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping others feel their best will serve you well.

VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments

With this diploma, the opportunities are endless. You could step into roles such as beauty therapist, spa therapist, or skincare specialist. Alternatively, you might decide to advance your studies in specialised areas like advanced aesthetics, sports massage or salon management. Whether working in luxury spas, cruise ships, high-end salons, or even starting your own business, this qualification will open doors to a rewarding career in the beauty industry.

You'll be assessed through a mix of practical assessments, assignments, and portfolio building. The focus is on demonstrating your skills in real-world scenarios, ensuring you're fully prepared for the demands of the beauty industry. You'll also complete written exams to solidify your understanding of key concepts.

Four to six hours a week is recommended to support the qualification. This will included revision for exams.

You'll have the chance to participate in work experience where you can gain hands-on experience. Engage with inspiring speakers from the industry who will share insights about their roles and career paths. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to visit various workplaces to observe professionals in action.

If you are over 18 there will be a registration fee of £125.00 if you have not previously registered with the exam board. You will wear a uniform whilst carrying out practical activities in the salon. Cost of kit and uniform will be discussed prior to enrolment. We do try to get most workshops free, but this is not always possible and there may be a charge to hold one. This will be at a reduced cost for the students and we will give plenty of notice of when these will take place. Additional qualifications may be offered if suitable for the student.
