Message from Lee Probert, Principal and Chief Executive:
As we approach the New Year, we’re reviewing our campus safety arrangements and it’s important you know what to expect when you come back in January 2025.
From January 2025, all staff and students will be expected to follow our updated Visible Identification (ID) policy. This means that everyone will have to clearly display their staff or student ID card at all times when on the campus, including in lessons (unless there’s a health and safety reason not to). This is an update to our current practice and will be followed by everyone – even if you are a member of staff or a student who wears a uniform.
For many people, this will simply mean wearing your lanyard with your ID visible. Alternatively, you can ask us for a clip and choose to wear it in a different way.
If you have lost your ID card, there will be time for you to ask for a new card and lanyard or clip. Please go to the Student Hub to get these.
From 9 January 2025, we’re going to start checking this on arrival to learning. Your tutors will also ask you to display your ID in lessons and this will help to ensure you are displaying when you leave lessons and move around.
From Monday 13 January 2025, you will only be able to enter the building through the main entrance, which will ensure we can meet and greet all staff, students and visitors and of course ensure that IDs are clearly displayed. This means you will not be able to get in via the rear doors of The Street.
We look forward to seeing you in the New Year and to your support with this important policy update.
My very best wishes to you and your families for the festive period.
