This Digital Functional Skills programme aims to help you demonstrate your understanding and competency in digital skills needed for real-life applications. It focuses on enabling you to engage with digital services and products in everyday life and provides a foundation for further study or employment.

Description
There are five main themes that you will cover during this programme:

Using devices and handling information: Searching the internet, managing files, and using cloud storage.

Creating and editing: Using applications to create and edit digital content, processing numeric data, and creating charts.

Communicating: Using email and online messaging appropriately, and managing digital footprints.

Transacting: Managing online accounts, completing online forms, and ensuring safe online transactions.
- Being safe and responsible online: Understanding data protection laws, protecting personal information, backing up files, avoiding malware, and minimizing health risks from digital device use.

Entry Requirements
There are no specific prior skills or knowledge required for this qualification. However, it may be beneficial for learners to have achieved the NCFE Entry Level 3 Digital Functional Skills. You will have a discussion with the course tutor prior to enrolment to ensure you are capable of achieving the learning outcomes and have the relevant literacy, numeracy, and health and safety requirements.
You will need to have basic understanding of how to access and navigate digital devices.

Assessment
The qualification is assessed externally through: A multiple-choice/short-answer question paper (knowledge assessment) and task-based assessments (skills assessment). Both sections are externally set and marked, and the assessments are conducted under invigilated conditions.

Home Study
You will be expected to practice and apply the skills learned in real-life contexts to reinforce your understanding and competency.
