Freddy Anderton, who is a level 3 Motor Vehicle apprentice, chose this course to develop new skills while building on his existing knowledge. Wanting a hands-on learning experience, he found that the apprenticeship provided the perfect balance between classroom theory and real-world application.

Each day at PR Motors, he starts by preparing for tasks before checking in with reception to see if any tyre-related jobs need completing, as apprentices often begin with tyre work. Once those are finished, he assists experienced colleagues with various mechanical tasks, steadily expanding his expertise under their guidance.

Freddy values the structured approach of his apprenticeship, which allows him to reinforce what he learns in the classroom with practical experience in the garage. Since he has already encountered many of the tasks covered in lessons, the classroom deepens his understanding and helps refine his technical abilities.

"The apprenticeship prepares me for the future by making me more open-minded and helping me understand what other people do in their jobs, as people don’t realise how hard it really is."

Looking to the future, Freddy aspires to progress within the field, aiming to become a senior technician and continue expanding his knowledge. He encourages those considering an apprenticeship to stay eager to learn and remain determined. While it can be challenging, he believes the support from mentors and colleagues makes the journey worthwhile. His experience demonstrates how apprenticeships provide the essential skills, confidence, and hands-on training needed to build a successful career in the automotive industry.
