    Throughout this programme you'll focus on developing skills and understanding of Sport such as:

    • Participating in Sport
    • Sports Coaching
    • Developing Sporting Skills and Tactical Awareness

    You'll also develop transferrable skills such as:

    • Confidence
    • Teamwork
    • Communication
    • Leadership
    • Organisation

    You will be inspired by guest talks from industry experts and visits to professional industry settings enabling you the opportunity to put theory into practice.

  • Entry Requirements

    You'll have a keen interest in Sports and a passion to develop these skills further but have not studied Sport at GCSE level, this programme provides an excellent starting point. Ideally you will have 5 GCSEs grade 3 or above including English and mathematics.

    If you have not yet obtained a Grade 4 in English and/or Maths then you will continue to study these alongside your Sports Programme.

    A keen interest in sport, fitness, and physical activity is essential for this programme. You should be comfortable with physical challenges and enjoy working as part of a team.

    Beneficial skills include; Communication, Organisation, Passion, Discipline, Time Management, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Teamwork which we will build upon as part of this programme.

  • Qualification

    NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Sport (Sports Coaching)

  • Progression

    NCFE Level 3 in Sport and Physical Activity

  • Assessment

    You'll be assessed through practical assessments and application of theory throughout your programme. Assessment is 100% coursework.

    If you have not yet achieved a grade 4 in English and/or mathematics you'll need to study towards these and undertake mocks and final GCSE exams in these subjects alongside your main programme.

  • Home Study

    Three to four to hours of home study per week is recommended to support the qualification.

  • Work Placement

    There is no work experience requirement for this programme. However, you will be inspired by guest talks from industry experts and visits to professional industry settings enabling you the opportunity to put theory into practice.

  • Fees and Additional Costs
