The Procision Reading Football Academy combines a flexible academic study programme alongside professional coaching for passionate footballers. The programme maximises the opportunity for students to enhance and develop potential pathways within football whilst securing academic and coaching qualifications. Players that excel within the programme will be offered the opportunity to progress our partners Swindon Town and Hungerford Town FC who play in the National League South (Step 2).

    Units Covered Year 1: Leadership in Sport Assessing Risk Sport Coaching Athlete's Lifestyle Exercise, Health & Lifestyle Preparing for a Career in Sport & Physical Activity Sports Injuries Technical & Tactical Practical Team Sports Units Covered Year 2: Psychology in Sport Practical Individual Sport Analysis of Sports Performance Sports Development Organising Sports Events Work Experience in Sport Fitness Training & Programming Instructing Physical Activity & Exercise Sports Nutrition

    You will play in the colleges leagues which will mean you have fixtures every week. This will also feature games against Academy level teams to help you show your progression. The squad will also represent the club in the FA Youth Cup.

  • Entry Requirements

    Students will need to have either; Five GCSE's at grade 4 or above for NCFE Level 3 Sport & Physical Activity Extended Diploma or Three GCSE's at grade 4 or above for NCFE Level 3 Sport & Physical Activity Diploma

    Footballers with a determination to work on their technical ability, tactical understanding and physical conditioning. Students who have played football previously at a good level. Students who would like to compete on a weekly basis in regional leagues.

    NCFE Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Fitness Instructing & Personal Training

  • Progression

    Progression opportunities include; University in the UK Playing Scholarship to Universities in the USA Degree in Sports Coaching & Development Level 3 Gym Instructor & Personal Training Qualification Full-time & Part-time Coaching opportunities worldwide Apprenticeships in chosen field of study

  • Assessment

    You will be assessed by coursework projects.

  • Home Study

    You will have work to complete each week based on the topic in class. If you are not up to date and behind on your work, then you will not be eligible to train or feature in the squads for that week. Therefore, if your work is not completed then this will be done in your own time. You may also have work to complete each week for Maths and English dependant on previous grades.

  • Work Placement

    Practical playing experience at a high level Variety of sports based opportunities through Procision in the Community and Procision FC.

  • Fees and Additional Costs
