Description
This one-year programme is currently being confirmed with the awarding body but is likely to cover the following elements:
- Experimentation with diverse media, materials, techniques, and processes.
- Investigation of your progression opportunities.
- Development of a portfolio of work to support your progression goals.
- Production of a final major project, drawing upon the knowledge and skills acquired during the exploratory phase.
You will be encouraged to extend your personal ambition while understanding the professional context for presenting your finished work.

Entry Requirements
This programme is a continuation from the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media Practice. You are required to have a level 3 art qualification and five GCSE passes at grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths and English.
Students aged 16 - 19, who have not yet achieved grade 4 (C) in GCSE Maths and English, will study Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English as part of their course.
All applications will also be considered based on prior experience in creative practice. Some experience in creative practice such as researching, observational drawing, photography, recording ideas and thoughts and developing ideas is desirable.
You can demonstrate your potential to succeed by sharing examples of personal, physical, or digital creative artwork, such as a portfolio of artwork, a selection of successful photographs, a personal sketchbook or online artwork.

Progression
There are several progression options available upon successful completion of this programme. You may wish continue your education by taking an HNC/HND in Graphic Design at University Centre Newbury or consider a degree programme in an art, design, or media-related field at another university or college.
You can also enter the workforce via entry-level positions, freelancing or an apprenticeship in graphic design, illustration, photography, advertising, and more.

Assessment
This programme is 100% internally assessed. You will be provided with written formative feedback during the exploratory phase of the programme. Summative assessment will be provided once, against all the assessment criteria, at the end of the confirmatory phase of the programme.

Home Study
You will be expected to work independently for approximately 4 hours a week between in-college sessions and remotely via Microsoft Teams as required.

Work Placement
You will participate in structured work experience and/or work placements that develop skills and knowledge relevant to this qualification and the local and national art, design and media industry sectors.

Fees and Additional Costs
All students are asked to contribute £15 towards the College Subscription Fund and £100 towards creative materials per year. This includes general day to day tools and materials. Offsite visits to museums and galleries will also incur a separate cost. Financial support may be available.
