Russell Shackleton is a highly skilled Internal Auditor, Fraud Examiner, and Non-Executive Director, renowned for his extensive experience in consulting roles. For over two decades, he has been actively involved in working with boards and sub-committees as both an internal and external consultant. His last eight years have been particularly notable, as he led his own boutique consultancy firm. This endeavour has culminated in what is often referred to as a 'portfolio career', which now includes his role as a tutor on the Financial Times Non-Executive Director programme.
Shackleton's professional portfolio is marked by his expertise in delivering change programmes, enhancing board effectiveness, and advancing risk management maturity. He is also adept at designing and developing training programmes focused on governance, risk, and strategy. He made history in his family by earning an Honours Degree in Leeds while working full-time. His educational pursuits also include an MBA from Henley Business School, achieved during a career break amidst other professional qualifications. In 2013, Shackleton and his wife moved to Newbury, where he has since developed a deep appreciation for the community's respect and affection for the local college. He is enthusiastic about contributing to Newbury College's future and eager to be a part of its forthcoming developments.
