  • Description

    Throughout the Construction Multi Trades programme you will develop hand-skills and learn key health and safety theory as well asbefore progressing to further studies in your chosen construction pathway.

    All aspects of the programme develop your practical skills and will enable you to demonstrate your ability to complete common tasks within the construction industry.

    You'll begin to understand how different elements of the trades industry work together while developing skills needed for:

    • Carpentry
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical Installation
  • Entry Requirements

    An interest in the construction and building technologies industry and a willingness to explore the base elements of all three construction pathways; Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical Installation. Maths and English grades of at least a 2 are needed. For those with Maths and English grades lower than a 4, you will be supported to develop these grades alongside your Multi Trades study programme.

You should be comfortable with basic computer functions and applications including accessing the internet and word processing. Parts of your programme may be delivered using Microsoft Teams. Training for this application will be provided.

  • Qualification

    City and Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Construction Skills

  • Progression

    Progression options include the Transition Pathway for Building Services Engineering or Onsite Construction which will develop your skills further and prepare you for a T Level in your chosen occupational specialism (Carpentry and Joinery, Electrotechnical Installation or Plumbing).

  • Assessment

    Throughout this course, you will complete a range of practical, hands-on assessments in the workshop to build up your individual portfolio. You will also take some multiple choice exams covering Health and Safety, Construction Technology.

  • Home Study

    At times you will be required to take work home and learn, this will be directed by your teacher.

  • Work Placement

    There may be opportunity for a short work placement which may be organised and undertaken as part of your study programme.

  • Fees and Additional Costs

    You may be required to purchase work wear such safety boots and trousers. Prices can be discussed at interview.
