Already mastered the basics of Italian? Look no further than our 'Italian Improvers' course. This course covers A2-B1 of the Common European Framework of References for Languages.
The following topics will be covered on this course:
- Everyday activities
- Personal information
Grammar will include the use of past and future tenses, as well as the present tense. Structures will be expanded, using adverbs and adjectives, to enable students to express themselves more accurately.
The main language skills to be developed are speaking, listening, reading and writing. These will be practiced in a variety of classroom activities including work in pairs and groups, listening to CDs, use of interactive media, reading brochures and writing notes, postcards or short letters.
Learning Outcomes: You will continue to learn how to communicate in everyday situations using the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
You need to bring the following to the first class: a pen, paper and folder for handouts. An Italian Dictionary is optional.
You will need to have completed the Italian Beginners course or have equivalent experience and be able to communicate at a simple level using the present tense.
You need to be aware that term two of this course is a continuation from term one and term three is a continuation from term two. Students are welcome to begin at the start of term two and term three as long as they have equivalent experience.
This course does not lead to a formal qualification.
Progress on this course will be assessed through informal tests or quizzes, lecturer feedback, observation, audio recording and marked written work.
Homework (approximately one hour per week) is essential and will consist of reading, assignments, essays and other activities.
You do not need to be in relevant work to undertake this course.
