T Level Onsite Construction (Carpentry and Joinery)

Firstly you'll develop your knowledge in the core principles of Onsite Construction. You'll then choose a specialism designed to support your interests, so you can get deeper into your chosen subject and build up the skills you need for your future job.

T Levels are for school leavers, you'll need to be aged 16 - 18 at the start of your programme. You'll need a Level 2 qualification from a construction or trade pathway along with maths and English grade 4 or above along with an interest in construction.

Good organisational skills and a keen interest in applying and understanding the construction industry.

T Level in Onsite Construction

Following a T Level, you could progress straight into a skilled profession or continue your studies with a degree or higher apprenticeship. Career options might include becoming an advanced site carpenter or joiner, or a construction assembly and installation operative.

T Level assessment combines examinations in the core skills, with a practical skills test for the occupational specialisms developed in practice.

Assessments come in different forms, giving you the opportunity to develop key skills and behaviours tailored to your employment. Group work, portfolios, and practical projects set by employers are just a few of the many ways you can show how your knowledge has developed.

An average of 3 hours a week.

Your learning will combine classroom theory and practical learning and include 9 weeks (45 days) minimum with an employer on an industry placement. The placement will provide you with real experience of the workplace.
