The Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry (Construction) qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work in Site Carpentry in the construction industry or progress to further training.

A minimum five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including maths and English or Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in Carpentry are recommended for this programme. Individuals without level 2 English and maths may need to take additional English and maths alongside their main qualification.
Students benefit from having completed the Level 2 Carpentry course. a natural ability to work with their hands and the ability to use their own initiative.
Diploma in Site Carpentry (Construction) Level 3
Apprenticeship, higher education or employment in a related trade.
The assessment requirements set for this qualification are multiple choice knowledge tests and practical assignments. All units in this qualification are mandatory and learners must attain at least a pass in each unit in order to achieve the overall qualification. Achievement of this qualification will be assessed via a combination of knowledge testing and practical assessments that can be combined for synoptic delivery.
You will be required to undertake some self-study in your own time of around 2-3 hours per week.
A work placement will be organised and undertaken as part of the Level 3 Diploma in Carpentry.
14 - 18 year olds
In most cases students aged 14-18 years old on a substantial study programme will NOT be required to pay fees and most course-specific equipment and materials will be funded by the College. This excludes stationary, non-curriculum trips and a £15 enrichment fee.
19 years and over
Students aged 19 years and over may be required to pay fees. For details of fee remission and loans for students over the age of 19 click here.
