Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Level 4 Certificate
This course is for practitioners who will go on to conduct internal quality assurance (IQA) of the qualification assessment processes and lead a team of assessors. There are flexible start dates for this programme.

Description
This course will include sample planning, monitoring, creating a plan for your area and advising assessors. This certificate can be achieved by attending the one-day verification workshop and is assessed by professional discussion, work place observation and a portfolio of work product evidence.
This certificate has two units:
- Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)
- Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment (6 credits)
This is a course which will take up to six months to complete. It is delivered by workshops and observations.

Entry Requirements
Good working knowledge of Maths and English. Existing assessor skills and qualifications at Level 3. Candidates must have access to 2 assessors to internally verify work for.
Teaching and learning and assessor skills.

Qualification
VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

Progression
Students may be able to progress onto a Teacher Training programme in Further Education or post compulsory education. The Certificate enables people to lead a team of assessors within their sector.

Assessment
Assessment is carried through a range of methods which includes: a written task, portfolio evidence, observations of working and reflection.

Home Study
Students are expected to carry out on going research and development of their evidence portfolio.

Work Placement
Students need to have access to two assessors who have a minimum of two learners to assess, to be able to verify their work.

Fees and Additional Costs
If you are over 18 there will be a registration fee of £65.00 if you have not previously registered with the exam board. There is a registration fee which is in addition to the enrolment fee. A suggested book is 'Achieving Your Assessment and Quality Assurance Units (Taqa) (Further Education and Skills) 31 Jan 2014 by Ann Gravells' Approx. £17.99.

Fee information
14 - 18 year olds
In most cases students aged 14-18 years old on a substantial study programme will NOT be required to pay fees and most course-specific equipment and materials will be funded by the College. This excludes stationary, non-curriculum trips and a £15 enrichment fee.
19 years and over
Students aged 19 years and over may be required to pay fees. For details of fee remission and loans for students over the age of 19 click here.
