Dyslexia and Other Specific Learning Difficulties Level 2 Certificate
This course explores a range of SpLDs and their characteristics to help people identify the differences. Throughout the course, students develop their understanding of the positive aspects and strengths of individuals with SpLDs and explore the effects of SpLDs and barriers individuals may face.

Description
Students discover how to provide support for individuals with SpLDs with a focus on the individual themselves and their own unique needs, alongside gaining an understanding of the process of formal diagnosis of SpLDs.
This course is split into five manageable units. These are
- Unit 1: Understand Specific Learning Difficulties
- Unit 2: Understand the Effects of Specific Learning Difficulties
- Unit 3: Understand the Diagnosis of Specific Learning Difficulties
- Unit 4: Understanding Supporting Individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties
- Unit 5: Understand the Context of Specific Learning Difficulties
Ages 24+: Our L2 Study Online programmes are free to EU/UK Nationals regardless of previous qualifications. Ages 19 to 23 are eligible for free courses if they have already achieved a full L2 qualification or equivalent. Please contact us for clarification.

Entry Requirements
You will be issued with an Induction Workbook during your first discussion with your tutor; this workbook will determine whether you are suitable for the course. No specific prior learning requirements, although beneficial to have already achieved a Level 1 qualification in a health or health and social care related area. Anyone interested in working or already working in care would benefit from this course.

Assessment
This course is distance learning. Assessment is by successful completion of all units in the workbook supplied which is then internally and externally moderated before certification.

Home Study
Approximately 140 hours study. No lessons but there is support from the specialist tutor available if required. Study will be home-based and at the student's discretion within the timeframe stipulated by tutor.

Fee information
16 - 18 year olds
In most cases, students aged 16-18 on a full-time study programme (including T Levels) will not be required to pay fees, and the College will fund most course-specific equipment and materials. This excludes stationary, non-curriculum trips and a £15 College Subscription.
19 years and over
Students aged 19 years and over may be required to pay fees. Our Fees, Funding and Financial Support page has details on financial support, fee remissions and loans. Please note that some courses may have additional registration, examination and/or materials fees. Where we have been unable to provide these additional costs in this information, they will be discussed with you before enrolment.
Funded programmes
Where course fees are fully funded (for example Maths, English and Essential Digital Skills), the course is free of charge to students, subject to eligibility.
Skills Bootcamps
