T Level Management and Administration (Business Support)
Develop the organisational, communication and problem-solving skills used to keep modern organisations running effectively. Equivalent in size to three A levels, this two-year programme combines advanced business study with a substantial industry placement, giving you real experience while preparing you for employment, an apprenticeship or higher education.

Understand how organisations operate while developing practical skills that can be applied across almost every industry.
You will begin by exploring the wider business environment before developing more specialist skills in business support, administration and project activity.

You will apply your learning to realistic business situations and develop the ability to organise information, solve problems, communicate professionally and support projects from planning through to completion.
Your industry placement will allow you to see how these skills are used within a real organisation and develop the professional confidence expected in the workplace.

Entry requirements
You will normally need:
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, preferably including English and Maths
- Or an appropriate vocational qualification at Merit, together with Functional Skills English and Maths, preferably at Level 2
If you have not yet achieved the required entry criteria, the team may discuss whether an appropriate foundation route is suitable. If you have not yet achieved grade 4 in GCSE English and/or Maths, you will continue to study these alongside your main programme.
This programme is ideal if you are organised, enjoy working with people, and have a keen interest in how businesses operate. A passion for problem-solving and a knack for communication will help you excel in both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course.

Assessment
The T Level includes several different forms of assessment.
The core component is assessed through:
- Written examinations covering your core technical knowledge
- An Employer Set Project, also known as the Core Project, where you apply your knowledge and skills to a realistic business scenario
Your occupational specialism is assessed separately through an externally set assessment that tests your ability to apply specialist business support knowledge and skills.
The core component is graded A* to E, while the occupational specialism is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. These results contribute to your overall T Level grade.
You must also successfully complete the required industry placement to achieve the full T Level programme.
English and Maths, where studied alongside your programme, are assessed separately and may include exams.

Home study
You should expect to complete around 6 to 10 hours of independent study each week.
This may include:
- Researching organisations and industries
- Completing business case studies
- Reviewing technical concepts
- Analysing information and data
- Preparing presentations
- Planning projects
- Preparing for core examinations
- Preparing for the Employer Set Project
- Reflecting on your industry placement
At Level 3, you will be expected to manage your workload independently and meet deadlines across a demanding two-year programme.

Work placement
A substantial industry placement is a mandatory part of every T Level.
You will complete a minimum of 315 hours, approximately 45 days, with an employer.
Because management and administration skills are used across almost every sector, placements could take place in a wide variety of organisations.
Depending on your placement, you may:
- Support administrative processes
- Work with data and business information
- Communicate with customers, colleagues or stakeholders
- Support projects
- Prepare documents and presentations
- Use business software and digital systems
- Attend meetings
- Learn how different departments work together
Your placement will help you build professional confidence and demonstrate that you can apply your knowledge in a real workplace.
